Marching Chargers prepare For All Mankind show

The summer months have been very exciting for the band program at Stagg High School.

Drum Majors Mary Baca, Pat Gabel, and Stephen Jackiw gave a great show at the Smith-Walbridge Drum Major Camp, held at Eastern Illinois University.

The Marching Chargers have had weekly rehearsals since the summer months began, and met as a full ensemble for the first time on July 25.

“The students have worked very hard the entire summer, and have done a great job so far preparing their show “For All Mankind,” said Director Bob Mecozzi.

The Marching Chargers arrived at Camp Shaw-Wah-Nas-See in Manteno, IL on Saturday, July 30 and spent five days rehearsing music, learning marching movements, and participating in various team building activities. The students set a good pace at camp this year, a testament to their dedication and strong work ethic.
