World Languages

At its roots, mastery of a foreign language requires the mastery of four basic communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the modern languages, the ultimate goal is attainment of the confidence and ability to interact both orally and in written form with fluency. In classical languages, the goal is more linguistic structure and textual studies. The World Language Department offers Spanish, German, French, and Latin.
