Berg named Head Football Coach for Stagg Chargers

The District 230 School Board approved the hiring of Brian Berg as the new Head Varsity Football Coach at Stagg High School.

Berg, a current Stagg High School Social Studies Teacher, is a 2001 graduate of Andrew High and a 2005 graduate of Illinois State University. He holds advanced degrees in School Leadership and Reading Literacy.

Berg has spent the last three years as the Offensive Coordinator for the Stagg Chargers, leading the 2017 offense that ranked second all-time in Stagg history for points per game. Berg also has experience as the Defensive Coordinator at Reavis High School, where he helped guide a program turnaround from a 1-17 record to a 17-12 record in three seasons and a second round playoff appearance.

Berg’s coaching philosophy is to foster a program centered on developing well-rounded student-athletes by enhancing the skills necessary to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and ultimately in life. The program foundation will be built upon “Character, Commitment, and Community.”

Berg shares that he is very much looking forward to his new role in the Stagg Charger athletic family.
